Willie Hicks, Jr. Bio

 

Willie was born in Boston, MA in 1968, and has lived and worked in his native community for his entire life.  Following his father’s example, he strives to be involved in community endeavors while balancing the role of responsible business owner.

 

His educational path took him through schools in Milton, Chestnut Hill, Swampscott, Boston, and Concord, graduating from Concord-Carlisle High School in 1987.  He then returned to Chestnut Hill to attend Boston College, where he graduated in 1991 with a B.S. in Communications.  While at BC, he had the opportunity to play Division I football, leading the team as the starting quarterback from 1987-1990.

 

Before joining his father in business in 1994, Willie held positions with the City of Boston, the Boston Red Sox, ABC Sports, the Big East Athletic Association and the Massachusetts Association for Mental Health.

 

He has volunteered his time to mentor young people in many different circumstances and settings, from creating and managing athletic and tutoring programs for disadvantaged youth, to coaching disabled athletes in Special Olympics events.

 

He has also spent valuable time guiding both amateur and professional athletes in obtaining sponsorships and contracts to secure their financial future.

 

Willie has been honored as an Outstanding Young American and has  served on boards and committees for the City of Boston and for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston.
